October 2024 / Two-week stay: "We spent 2 wonderful weeks at Chateau Les Deux Tours during the Rugby World Cup in France. We found it a perfect retreat: far enough away from the hustle and bustle of Paris but close enough to drive there on weekends to watch rugby games. It was close enough to Chablis and Reims to have comfortable day trip outings. Troyes and the small towns and villages nearby created a truly French experience with its history and beautiful countryside. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners of the Chateau and their housekeeper. They provided a wonderful meal on arrival and a wealth of information about the property and the region. They made strong recommendations for restaurants and the like in the area (which all were fantastic) and helped us make reservations. We had up to 8 adults in our party at one time and we were all comfortably housed with plenty of room, facilities and the like. The moat around the chateau even had a pair of otters to watch! We would highly recommend ChicVillas and especially Chateau Les Deux Tours."

August 2023 / One-week stay: "We had a wonderful stay at Bonheur de Loire. As a family of all ages from young children to grandparents, it was the perfect stay. The kitchen with french doors that opened onto the terrace and garden was a wonderful setting for lunch and supper and the BBQ was a very welcome addition. The swimming pool was absolutely wonderful, the photos don't do it justice! It is a great size, there are plenty of sun loungers and enough shade for an afternoon nap. We really appreciated the two air-conditioned bedrooms and the house came fully kitted from everything from cooking utensils, great wifi through to many board games and an extensive library. The location of the house is fantastic. It is right next to a beautiful forest with wonderful walking trails. It is closely located to the chateaus, Blois and Amboise, which all made for great excursions. The owners and hosts could not have been more welcoming and helpful, with recommendations of things to do, restaurants and baby-sitter recommendations. We could not recommend the house more!"

The house has the most amazing views and is only about 10 minutes walk to the beach. We walked into town quite often too - a nice 30 minute walk to lovely shops and restaurants. The house is attractive and very well equipped. We had a great holiday and I would recommend the house and the area without reservation."

My Loire Chateau, far from the hustle and bustle, nestled into the southern Loire Valley countryside, was not only a superb setting at all levels, but the property itself was exquisite. It was renovated with style, neither overdoing the period, nor being stuck in time. It was easy to live in as a modern family, yet wondrous as we wandered up the magnificent central staircases, exploring the multitude of tastefully decorated rooms feeling as if we were in a romantic movie. All the equipment was abundant and in perfect working order. The grounds were ample, with much room to explore and yet nooks and secret parts that took you back in time. The Chateau allowed our family reunion to have numerous hearty get togethers, and it also allowed each to follow his or her own desires, be that tanning by the pool, reading in the shade of a walled garden, playing ball or â??baby footâ?... while utterly charming each and every one of us. A really superbly presented and memorable place to get together with friends and loved ones. Thank you to the owner for her warm and friendly welcome".

July 2022 / One week stay : "We arrived at 4pm on a glorious day and drove up the kilometre long drive to the bridge and gatehouse when the huge chateau came into view : Wow, what a moment ! It was just my wife and I together with one son and his family. All of us could not speak, the chateau was magnificent in the sunshine. The photographs on your website does not do it justice! A couple of hours later, our second son drove their car onto the gravel drive having flown from Vietnam and, again, they were speechless and could not believe the whole chateau was just for us. Our third and fourth sons and family were flying over from Bristol together but not leaving until 8.00pm so we were busy whatsapping them to tell them how good the chateau was ! Both families arrived just before midnight. We put all the outside lights on just before they arrived and, on their arrival, they stopped at the gatehouse to marvel at the illuminated chateau. What a beginning ! Everything we needed was in situ and we had the most wonderful time with our children and grandchildren. We also spent time at the wakepark and swimming lake close to the chateau and at the beach about 45 minutes away. Time was spent in Nantes and croissants and pain au raisin ordered most days from the local boulangerie. We even took everyone to creperie nearby one evening, overlooking the Loire Valley in an old cider press farm house, so French and so good! It was with great sadness to leave the following Saturday and our youngest grandchild (5) apparently cried all the way down the drive as he wanted to stay with his older cousins at the chateau. Thank you once again in helping making this holiday truly memorable for us all, it is something none of us will forget especially as the older grandchildren will soon be leaving school and we cannot foresee all 19 of us being together at the same time for many years to come. A huge thank you to Chicvillas in replying promptly to all our enquiries and giving us so much information which was so useful."

July 2022 / Two-week stay : "In July for a family celebration (ranging in age from 7 to 75), we spent two wonderful weeks enjoying the tranquil environment of Un Chateau Secret in a lovely small village. The historic entry courtyard we are sure has a story or two to tell and the house's spacious rooms provided locations for all to enjoy their own quiet time. The facilities are excellent; the Games Room hosted several highly contested table tennis matches ! The beautiful, peaceful garden provided much needed shade when the temperatures soared and the large pool allowed us to cool off and enjoy a swim or two as well. We did drag ourselves away to La Rochelle and Ile de Re but we were always very glad to return to our marvellous home. Debbie and the staff who attended the house, garden and pool were helpful, friendly and efficient. Highly recommended."

Floors range from cool tiles to smooth wood to soft carpet, all of them a treat for your feet. The kitchen is the most modern and well equipped cooking facility we have ever visited on holiday. Every cooking implement you might want is here, and of the best quality. The plates and cutlery are simply beautiful : none of this is stuff you would leave out for strangers to use, but here it is, in plentiful numbers. There is a fireplace for a cold evening and a hot tub outside for cool weather frolicking. There is a brand-new gas barbecue that' s a treat to use not least because it' s really rather big. All of these bedrooms have en-suite facilities and they match the high standards set in the kitchen downstairs. Everything is modern and works perfectly. The beds are comfortable, feather pillows are nice. I can not end without a word about the lighting. It is everywhere the most modern, from the little lights embedded in the steps of the staircase (a nice touch) to the built-in bedside lights. There are even electric sockets placed strategically on each side of the bed so that those of us who must have their phones nearby can charge them overnight in convenience. I can find nothing about this holiday home that I would change. I didn' t want to leave and I do want to come back to this utterly divine experience. This is the best Loire Holiday House Ever!"

"We had a lovely week in Sweet Brittany. The house was perfect for our party of 6 adults and a 16 month old baby (who slept in her own bedroom which had two single beds). The house is very stylish and we loved the interior decoration. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen well-equipped and we were able to eat in the garden on most days which was a great pleasure as this is spacious and very beautiful with lovely plants and trees. The position of the house was very quiet and peaceful and we could see the sea in the distance. It was about a 10 minute walk to the local beach and a larger one with cafe and restaurant could be found a bit further away. We fell in love with this part of the Brittany coast. It is rocky and wild, with large sandy beaches at low tide and easy walking along coastal paths. All the local towns have historic centres with beautiful buildings. We would eagerly return to both this part of Brittany and this house. We discussed with ChicVillas the kind of environment and house we were looking for for our holiday and their advice and guidance enabled us to find what we were looking for. The house itself is a surprising oasis behind an unassuming wall, and then you discover this magical courtyard, and the most stunning fully walled gardens.
