Dining al fresco is of course an option, on the terrace overlooking the Mediterranean or at the barbecue area next to the pool where there is room for everyone. The eight bedrooms are split across the two buildings, with four in each. There is a superb master suite on the same floor as the living area. All rooms are air-conditioned to ensure pleasant and restful sleep.

The property is perched on the tip of the coast overlooking a beach reputed for its natural, unspoiled beauty. Guests have direct access to the beach and we recommend enjoying it early in the morning before it fills up, then retreating to the luxury of your own private pool in the afternoon.

There are a number of other beaches within walking distance which is rare in this region – it’s a luxury to not have to use a car along the Catalan coast. This is great for families with teenagers as it gives them their independence, although they may need a little more dedication to make it to the village which is four kilometres away !

With the beach on your doorstep, watersports such as diving are an obvious choice. However, if you fancy venturing further, there are plenty of great places to visit in the region. The Costa Brava has beaches, mountains, sports facilities and sights to see. Here are some suggestions.

Natural parks

The Montgrí, Medes Islands and Baix Ter Natural Park is about thirty kilometres from the villa and is one of the biggest in the region. Hit one of the many walking or cycling trails to get some height and take in the breathtaking views of the coast and its creeks and the Medes Islands. Alternatively, head to the Aiguamolls de l'Empordà natural park to admire marshes and rice fields. There are many others further afield, such as the Garrotxa Volcanoes Zone natural park.

Visit Begur

The region is dotted with medieval towns and villages : visit Begur and its castle, Besalu and its bridge, and Pals, Palau Sator, Peratallada or Ullastret. Their names may not mean much to you yet, but they will stay with you forever once you’ve discovered them. They are brimming with history and character with their old city walls, churches, cobbled streets, traditional houses, castles and stunning panoramic views out to the Med.

Watersports and golf

The Costa Brava is ideal for watersports, but is also a popular destination for golfers. There are a cluster of golf clubs here, including the Emporda Golf Club, the Platja de Pals golf course and the Costa Brava golf club.
