Family days out in Brittany

There are lots to do in Brittany and no shortage of family-friendly activities. We know how hard it is to keep everybody happy, so we have put together some ideas to help you! So, without further ado, here are some ideas for family days out in Brittany.

Gyroparc in Plouharnel

This theme park is ideal for spending some quality family time. Kids aged from 2 to 4 can have fun driving round the track in their very own convertible, which parents can control remotely. Kids aged from 5 to 11 can ride a buggy or a children’s quad bike. And children over 12 can get an adrenaline fix on a mini quad bike or a segway. So, whether you opt for the children’s track, the inflatable track or a trek through the woods, this is a great family day out in Brittany.

Armoripark in Bégard

Armoripark is a water park and a leisure centre with a whole host of outdoor activities. With a fun pool, pedalos, mini-golf, bouncy castles and 6-lane water slide, there really is something for everyone here, kids and parents alike. All that splashing around is likely to make you hungry, so it’s good to know that the on-site snack bar is open all day.

Fort la Latte in Plévenon

Fort la Latte, formerly known as Roche-Guyon castle, is a fortress on a rocky peninsula along the English Channel coastline. This mediaeval castle is definitely worth a visit, with its curtain wall, turrets and dungeons. It is a popular film location and can be seen in the video for a French pop song called La Tribu de Dana, by Manau – look it up on You Tube for some great aerial views! If you are around at the beginning of August then you’re in luck – you’ll be there for Les Médiévales, with magic shows, falconry displays and jousting tournaments.

The Musée de l’Ecole Rurale in Trégarvan

Take a trip back in time at this rural school museum! While older members of the family take a trip down memory lane, the younger generation discover what school was like for their parents or grandparents. You can simply visit the museum, or take part in a workshop: choose from fountain pen handwriting, school exam dictation or playground games.

Océanopolis in Brest

Get everyone on board for an ocean discovery at this fantastic aquarium. It is hands down one of the best family days out in Brittany, and one you won’t want to miss. There are four different sites – the Polar pavilion, the Tropical pavilion, the Brittany pavilion and the otter path. Océanopolis makes learning fun, and you will enjoy finding out about the oceans and their flora and fauna. Children will love meeting the park’s otters, Matchaq, Tangiq and Pukiq.
