Normandie Entre Plages et Bocage - A family-friendly villa with a pool

Normandie Entre Plages et Bocage is a traditional timber-fronted house in northern France. The space and amenities here make it perfect for a relaxing family holiday in Normandy, surrounded by peaceful countryside yet not far from the beach. Between nature, scenic spots and the sea, this beautiful French holiday home will keep the whole family happy.

A beautiful house to rent in the Normandy wetlands

This holiday home is great for families who want to get away from it all and spend some quality time together. It is located in the heart of the Normandy wetlands, admired for its orchards and meadows. This is dairy country and the local rural lifestyle lends itself to slow living and connecting with nature. Normandie Entre Plages et Bocage comes with a huge garden surrounded by greenery and rolling countryside. There are no neighbours nearby and the heated pool is entirely hidden by trees, ensuring total privacy for you and your guests.

A traditional home with a modern interior

This old family home has recently been renovated and upgraded and now has a resolutely modern interior and the comfort and convenience that today’s discerning guests enjoy.

The traditional exterior is intact, with all the charm of the local timber-fronted houses.

Inside, the house is a beautiful country home. The ground floor rooms are laid out in succession, running the length of the house. The lounge and kitchen are bright and stylish featuring modern materials and facilities. In the lounge, a billiards table stands amid sleek and comfortable seating, while the kitchen has been fitted with the latest equipment for guests to enjoy cooking as they look out over the garden. Both the kitchen and dining room open out to the terrace which is perfect for leisurely breakfasts and easy lunches outdoors.

The modern décor is interspersed with older features such as the dresser in the dining room as a reminder of the house’s past. The north-facing living room also has a rustic feel in keeping with the rural location, and an open stone fireplace to enjoy a good log fire.

This property has six bedrooms: one spare bedroom downstairs and five lovely bedrooms upstairs. The main suite is very spacious and all but one of the bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The interior is cosy and inviting and all the bathrooms have been stylishly renovated. The first floor has beautiful views over the meadows and pastures outside, and the ground floor looks out at the apple orchard.

This villa has the best of both worlds, enjoying unhindered views of the countryside without being isolated; the village is a short one kilometre walk away and has the essentials you’d hope for at a French country home – a bread shop and a restaurant. The nearest supermarket is six kilometres.

This villa can comfortably accommodate two families with children or three couples.

Holiday in Normandy, things to see and do nearby:

The Pays d’Auge countryside

The Pays d'Auge area of Normandy has a climate that is perfect for lush green countryside, apple orchards and nourishing the characteristic white and brown Normandy cows that dot the landscape. The result is a delicious combination of cider and creamy cheeses. With grazing cattle, organic farms and half-timbered houses in every direction, this is picture-perfect rural France. Follow the cider route south to savour the local beverage straight from the cider-maker and stop off at Beuvron-en-Auge, officially named as one of the most beautiful villages in France. We also recommend visiting the beautiful gardens at the Jardins du Pays d'Auge in Cambremer.

If you head to the north of the Pays d'Auge, you’ll come to the picturesque seaside village of Honfleur. Admire the wood-fronted houses reflected in the water and meander through the little streets with its quaint boutiques and art galleries.

Deauville and Cabourg on the Côte Fleurie

The Normandy coast is dotted with well reputed seaside towns such as Cabourg, Houlgate, Trouvillle, and Deauville on the Côte Fleurie. Walk along the famous boards on Deauville beach, just 15 minutes from your holiday home, or venture a little further to the Marcel Proust promenade in Cabourg – the longest pedestrian seafront promenade in France. You can also try your hand at land yachting which is one of the most popular things to do on Normandy beaches. The English Channel is invigorating and a great opportunity for water sports.

Etretat and the Côte d'Albâtre

Cross the Tancarville bridge across the Seine to get to Le Havre and the Côte d'Albâtre. It’s just an hour from your villa but offers a dramatic change of scenery with the distinctive white cliffs that Etretat is famous for. You’ll get a great view of them from the pebbly beach.

On the other side of the bay, the Côte de Nacre is lined with long sandy beaches where the Normandy landings took place during the Second World War.

Normandy landing beaches

The landing beaches are between 50 and 150 kilometres from the villa Normandie Entre Plages et Bocage. The furthest is Utah Beach with its landing museum, the closest is Juno Beach. Between the two lie all the sites and monuments that commemorate the Battle of Normandy. The American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer is 100 kilometres away and can be visited at the same time as Omaha Beach, the most well-known of the five beaches. The Caen memorial and Sword Beach are also worth seeing.

Getting to your holiday villa in Normandy with a pool:

- Deauville airport and train station: 7 km
- Le Havre - Louis Blériot airport: 40 km
- Caen-Carpiquet airport: 60 km
- A13 motorway
