Chic Villas curates only the best luxury rental villas, and Authentic Luxury Provence is a gem! It’s perfect for a group holiday in the Provence and Occitanie region of the South of France.
A recent refurb means the sprawling 19th-century farmhouse combines the character of an old stone building with the last word in luxury. The result is 1,000 m² of subtle sophistication, with noble materials and natural shades featured throughout. Pretty square window panes let the sun and light in to bathe the locally-sourced stone walls in a soft glow.
With plenty of space, it’s perfect for a big family gathering. A choice of rooms, quiet spots and shared areas allows guests to socialize or retreat as they please. There are lounges on different levels, each designed for a different purpose: a cosy lounge with a curved ceiling, a TV den, a reading room, and a large living room with a high, airy ceiling. The pool table in the hall promises fun, friendly tournaments, while an 18-seat dining room with a vaulted ceiling provides a stylish space for leisurely dinners. There is a second dining room in the semi-open gallery section upstairs. Convenience, comfort and excellent facilities combine to make holiday living easy, inside and out.
This fabulous French holiday home has the luxury facilities you need to relax and recharge in style.
The 25x7m swimming pool is big enough for laps while little ones can play safely in a separate shallow pool. Both are fitted with a safety alarm. There is also a tennis court, a French boules pitch and a pool house with a sauna and gym.
The outdoor kitchen has a fridge, gas griddle and pizza oven which can be used for al fresco eating at the main dining table or one of the outdoor seating areas.
Life here is all about nature and simplicity. Peace, space and privacy are guaranteed – the property is set in 40,000m² of land near the Cévennes Natural Park. Beyond the views of rolling countryside lie some of France’s most scenic beauty spots: Provence, the Luberon and the Alpilles hills. Enjoy the great outdoors with hikes, hill walks or cycle rides. Add in delicious French food and wine and the dream is complete!

Authentic Luxury Provence brings you the very best of France: great weather, fabulous food and wine, plenty of history and outdoor living.
- The Cévennes Natural Park is beautiful and varied, featuring Mediterranean scrublands, forests and mid-altitude mountains. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so scenic walks are a given. Some hiking trails go through the grounds of the property – hop on the four adult bikes and two quads provided and get out to explore them! Nearby waterways are ideal for beautiful canoe trips in and around the Gorges de la Cèze or along the Gardon River. Drive 45km to the renowned Ardèche gorges to enjoy endless views and historic monuments such as the impressive Pont du Gard aqueduct. It was a feat of engineering built by the Romans in the first century to bring water to the town of Nimes.
- Visit the south of France’s most historic cities. See Nimes and Uzès on the Cévennes side, and Orange, Arles, and Avignon on the Provence side.
- See the historic villages that trace the history of France: Vézénobres (15km), Allègres les Fumades and its castle (16km), Saint-Ambroix (16km), Anduze (20km), Saint-Jean du Gard (32km), Sauve (30km) and La Roque-sur-Cève (45km). Further afield, the Provençal villages of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (90km) and Les Baux-de-Provence in the Alpilles, Gordes (125km), Roussillon and Ménerbes in the Luberon are all worth the trip. The Cévennes and Provence regions have a lot in common. Travel 50km to the Provence Gardoise area for a taste of what the wider Provence region has in store: idyllic landscapes of lavender, vineyards and orchards.
- Enjoy attractions closer to your holiday home: check out the Cévennes steam train (30km) or the vélorail (25km), the coal mines, the Trabuc cave (25km), and the Générargues bamboo grove (20km).
- Last but not least, France is also famous for its delicious homegrown food. Head to one of the many local markets to pick up some goats’ cheese (Pélardon), chestnuts, honey, Nimes strawberries, Anduze saffron, figs, cherries and sweet onions. And enjoy a taste of Provence with olives and olive oil, tapenade, Provençal herbs, and lavender honey.
- The South of France is an important wine-growing region. The closest appellations to this area are the Duchy of Uzès, IGP Gard, IGP Cévennes and IGP Pont-du-Gard, and the neighbouring wines include Costières de Nîmes, Côtes du Rhône, and Côtes de Provence. Take your pick from crisp whites, round reds and the ultimate summer staple, rosé – best served chilled with friends in the sun!
