Treasure of Provence lies in Les Alpilles amid 200 hectares of vineyards, woods and olive groves. The 1,500 m² property is laid out over three floors and has a lift for convenience. It is the perfect location for a relaxing stay in a setting that epitomises the Provence that has inspired painters and writers for centuries. This chateau effortlessly captures the French art de vivre and has been used as a set for a televised period drama.
Each of the chateau’s twenty-two spacious rooms has been tastefully decorated in a unique style. Luxury is the watchword and is apparent in the décor, high-end furnishings and the exclusive services provided to ensure a seamless and comfortable stay. Socialising is done with elegance in the softly-lit bar with leather armchairs, or the library and billiards room with its golden oak wood panelling. The second floor has a contemporary décor and modern facilities including a home cinema, gym and steam room.
This luxury château is nestled among rolling hills and vineyards and guests will enjoy strolling through the expansive grounds and making use of the 20-metre swimming pool. The beautiful terrace is perfect for sharing meals with friends and family in the sun while chirruping cicadas and the fragrance of the nearby lavender remind you that Provence is on the doorstep.
Staff at this luxury rental chateau in Provence include a housekeeper and chambermaids. Breakfast is included in the price. An all inclusive option is also available. Please be aware there is no kitchen for your own use at the property.
Your holiday in Provence is an opportunity to explore this beautiful region of France and the surrounding countryside, which is a walker’s paradise. Head to Tarascon for a two-and-a-half-hour route which will take you past St Gabriel’s chapel, or start from Beaucaire for a three-hour walk across the heath to admire the hills of St Roman and its Roman remains. Alternatively, go out for a ride with the nearby pony club, the Centre Equestre Poney Club des Alpilles.
Provence is packed with picturesque towns and villages that you won’t want to miss. Top of our list are Les Baux-de-Provence, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Gordes, Sault, which has a lavender distillery, Arles, which is nicknamed Little Rome, and Avignon, famous not only for its theatre but also for its historical buildings. Provence is famed for its light and love affairs with painters, and the local museums and art galleries are well worth a visit. Check out the Granet museum and the international photography exhibition in Arles, the arts festival in Aix-en-Provence, and the summer opera festival in Orange, Les Chorégies d’Orange.
Finally, enjoy browsing the local farmers markets. Tarascon market is held on a Friday morning; pick up some of the local produce then lunch at the bistro next to the chateau, or book a table at L’Oustau de Baumanière, a two-Michelin-star restaurant run by Jean-André Charial.
This chateau can comfortably accommodate eight couples or four families with children.
