Villa Design Provence combines the rustic charm of an old French farmhouse with the comfort and style of a modern abode. The interior designer behind its recent renovation has preserved the soul of this 300-year-old property and added a contemporary flourish. Eclectic vibes and styles have been subtly orchestrated for an impressive result, with attention to detail inside and out that makes all the difference.
Much of your holiday in Provence will be spend outdoors, and the setting here is perfect. The heated swimming pool has a white deck to stylishly offset the sleek poolside furniture. Outdoor lighting creates a magical atmosphere and invites guests to enjoy relaxing in the garden well after the sun has gone down. The wooden pool house and private gym are classy and come with high-end equipment while iron artwork in the garden sets the tone for relaxing in style.
Closer to the house itself, the tone is more rustic and inimitably Provencal: stone walls, green shutters, a shady pergola and fragrant Mediterranean vegetation. Settle in at the long wooden table for leisurely lunches and long evening meals in total privacy.
Moving inside, industrial-style French doors lead into a large, bright living room where old meets new against a palette of muted and timeless colours. Exposed beams and terracotta floors mingle with modern furniture and statement accessories. The style carries through to the two kitchens and the dining room, with elegant original features such as a stone fireplace blending with a large modern table ideal for dining as a group.
This luxury villa has six bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom with bath or shower, and sometimes a double shower. The beds are all twinned and can be used separately or together to suit your requirements. All the beds are large, at least 160cm wide, and several suites have super king size beds which are two metres wide. The décor is all about soft tones set off with dashes of black features for a stylish finish.
The general feel is luxurious and indulgent. There is something enchanting about this quiet haven that lends itself to relaxing and enjoy the slow French country lifestyle. The Alpilles mountains lie in the distance, there is a village nearby, and you will be bowled over by the stunning panoramic views that stretch for miles around. Along with outstanding facilities, Villa Design Provence is brimming with space, style and sophistication. This luxury vacation villa really does have it all!

The South of France is known for its picturesque countryside: Provence, Alpilles, Luberon, are all names that conjure up an idyllic French getaway. They are synonymous with nature, sunshine, picturesque villages, vineyards, history, food and wine. And they are all on your doorstep. Here are our suggestions of must-dos while you’re here.
This is the heart of the Alpilles Regional Nature Park. And you don’t need to go any further than the eight-hectare grounds of your villa to enjoy the Mediterranean greenery and olive groves! Venture out, however, and you can take your pick of walking trails or mountain bike circuits against a peaceful and picturesque backdrop. The Alpilles vineyards stretch out into the hills around the property. The appellation of wine made here is IGP Alpilles or AOP Vallée des Baux-de-Provence, with the world-famous AOC Chateauneuf-du-Pape being produced just 50 kilometres down the road. Wine lovers will be in their element!
The Alpilles and the Luberon regions are dotted with cute hillside villages that become prettier and more iconic the higher you go. There are far too many to mention, but we recommend starting with Saint-Rémy-de-Provence which you can cycle to from the villa. Other nearby picks to go on the to-do list include Les Baux-de-Provence, Maussane-les-Alpilles, Mouries, Eygalières, Le Paradou, Aureille, and Mas-Blanc-des-Alpilles. Don’t forget to take your camera!
And if you want to head a little further out, take a drive to the Luberon region to visit the villages of Gordes, Roussillon, Ménerbes, Bonnieux, Lacoste, and Lourmarin. Each pretty little village has its own character, colours and history.
Many of these villages date back to mediaeval times or earlier and have a plentiful array of historic buildings. Visit the Sénanque abbey in Gordes, the castle of Baux-de-Provence, or the remains of Lacoste castle that belonged to the Marquis de Sade. One of the main attractions in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is the ancient Glanum archaeological site and its sacred spring.
The city of Avignon has the largest number of monuments. 600,000 visitors flock to the beautiful Palais des Papes each year and it is one of the most visited monuments in France. Also in Avignon, don’t miss the Pont Saint-Bénézet bridge which inspired a well-known French nursery rhyme, Sur le pont d'Avignon.
Every town and village in Provence has its own market, with stalls teeming with fresh, colourful and fragrant local produce. Whether you choose to simply amble around or stock up, the wares on offer are a sight in their own right. You’ll find fresh fruit and veg, local olives and olive oil, herbs and spices that you can enjoy while you're here, and soaps, ceramics and table linen in the traditional Provencal fabrics which make a great gift or souvenir to take home. Provence is acclaimed for its distinctive landscapes of lavender field, and lavender is sold in all shapes and forms, as flowers, essential oil, honey or in fragranced sachets. The market of Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and you will find markets all the other villages on a daily basis.
