Villa Charming Normandy – Beautiful vacation rental in Normandy

Villa Charming Normandy is a fully renovated Belle Époque style villa which oozes serenity and style. It is particularly well located near the town and the beach in the popular holiday destination of Normandy on France’s north coast. Between the sea, bustling local towns and lots of rugged nature, Normandy caters for everyone.

This beautiful holiday villa in Normandy is just 600 metres from the beach. Nature and natural tones are the theme for the interior, bringing a country living feel to this town house. A fabulous upstairs conservatory is flooded with natural light and is perfect for enjoying the warmth of the sun from the cosiness of an armchair. Wicker furniture, green plants and botanical prints bring the outdoors in and create a harmonious and decidedly modern interior. The garden has been designed with care and is a haven of peace, and there is a covered outdoor patio beneath the conservatory to provide shelter if needed. A outdoor spiral staircase leads up to the conservatory from the garden.

The interior is spread over three levels. The lower level can be used for seminars and has a 50 m² meeting room with a hi-tech screen. For leisure stays, there is one very spacious 36m² bedroom for four people with its own kitchenette, shower room and toilet.

The other four bedrooms are on the two upper floors.
The middle floor has one bedroom with a garden-inspired décor, which is both refreshing and inviting. The bathroom, although not en-suite, matches the style of this bedroom.

The top floor houses three further double bedrooms and three bathrooms. The atmosphere is effortlessly elegant, a botanical blend of retro-chic with luxury bedding for total comfort.

The living spaces are located on the middle floor and comprise a living room, a dining room and a homely kitchen with a central island. The entire floor is very bright and the conservatory is used as an additional living room. The original wooden floors and mouldings have been preserved and go wonderfully with the vintage furnishings and modern design that have breathed new life into this old house.

This villa is ideally located close to all amenities. You can pick up your morning croissants at the bakery just a few steps down the road and there is a great selection of shops and restaurants within walking distance. You won’t need to drive anywhere during your stay.

This holiday villa in Normandy by the sea can comfortably accommodate one to two families with children or five couples.

Elegant rental villa on the Flower Coast of Normandy, things to see and do nearby :

Seaside resorts

Villa Charming Normandy is typical of the region. The seaside resorts that line what the French call the Côte Fleurie (Flower  coast) had their heyday in the 19th century when bathing in the sea became popular. The towns of Trouville-sur-Mer, Deauville, Houlgate, and Cabourg were purpose built for the French and European aristocrats that frequented the coast. This led to a mix of influences all seeking to achieve the same purpose: to display a symbol of wealth. Hence, the towns here all have a different vibe and reputation for being family-friendly, bourgeois or upmarket, like Deauville. Each resort has its own history and appeal. Deauville’s iconic promenade, Les Planches, was built with Deauville Baths in 1924 to prevent ladies’ dresses trailing in the sand and is now listed as a historic monument.

Honfleur is about 20 kilometres from Villa Charming Normandy and is one of the most visited cities in France. It has been awarded the title of a City of Art and History and is a must for anyone visiting the region.

The Normandy countryside

Rural Normandy is a great place to explore. This is Pays D'Auge country, a beautiful, naturally green area, deeply anchored in French heritage. The landscape is made up of marshlands, thatched cottages, grazing Norman cows and orchards, and just as beautiful as the coast. Make sure you visit the local apple farms and the cider, calvados and cheese makers. The village of Pont-l'Evêque is home to the cheese of the same name and is less than 20 kilometres from your holiday villa.

The beaches of the Côte Fleurie

The beaches are a major attraction here. Villa Charming Normandy has the enviable quality of being a townhouse close to all amenities but a beach house too. The nearest beach is just 600 metres down the road. Lower Normandy’s beaches are large and sandy, unlike other parts of the coast such as Etretat which is known for its cliffs. The sweeping Deauville beach dotted with colourful parasols is one of the most popular in the area and just a short walk from the property.

These beaches are ideal for water sports, water skiing, stand up paddle and wakeboarding, or even sand yachting at low tide. For a more leisurely option, take in the local resorts from the sea on a boat trip westward to the D-Day landing beaches and the Cotentin headland.

The landing beaches of Normandy

The Normandy beaches are first and foremost the site of the WWII D-Day landings. The closest is Sword Beach, 45 km away, and the furthest is Utah Beach, which is about an hour away. Between the two are Gold Beach, Omaha Beach and the American cemetery in Colleville, and Juno Beach. This is a wonderful way to gain a better understanding of the Normandy landings and pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom. There are plenty of commemorative sites along the coast, with musts including the Atlantic Wall Museum – The Grand Bunker in Ouistreham, the D-Day Museum in Arromanches, and, on the eastern side of the coast, the Blockhaus de la Gare bunker in Honfleur.

Thalassotherapy, casino and horse races

After a busy day out and about, you’ll enjoy coming home and winding down at your beach house. There is plenty to do here throughout your stay, from bracing walks along the sea and browsing the local boutiques, to more formal activities such as the casino, thalassotherapy centre or a day at the races.

Getting to your holiday rental near the beach in Calvados:

- Deauville-Normandie Airport 15 km
- Le Havre- Octeville airport 50 km
- Paris-Beauvais and Paris-Orly airports 200 km
- Deauville-Trouville and Lisieux train stations
- A132 motorway
