Provence Design ou Tradition - Villa to rent near Aix-en-Provence

A easy living rental in Provence

Provence Design ou Tradition is a 420 m² air-conditioned villa between Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon in the South of France. It is a recent build designed in the style of a traditional Provencal farmhouse, combining the charm of the traditional local style with the convenience of a new property.

On the outside, it is everything a Provencal house should be, with its stone walls, curved tile roof, and blue wooden shutters.
On the inside, it’s all about floor-to-ceiling glass, bright spaces and cool, cement tiled floors.

Light floods into the downstairs living areas, with sliding glass panels that retract into the walls to create a big, open space where the interior spills over into the garden and allows seamless transition from the kitchen, living room, dining room and the main bedroom suite.

The design strikes the perfect balance of rustic chic and modern convenience. Wooden chairs and fireplaces create a cosy, country feel, while modern motifs, plush furnishings and statement pieces add an elegant finish. The kitchen and bathrooms are fitted with contemporary furniture and facilities that will ensure ultimate comfort.
The result is an effortlessly stylish home that is easy to live in. It also has air-conditioning throughout.

The conservatory living room is bright and comfortable and has a pool table – ideal for whiling away the hours with family and friends.

The parental suite is on the ground floor, with a further three bedrooms upstairs. One has its own en-suite bathroom while the other two bedrooms share a bathroom.

Holiday villa in Provence: things to see and do nearby?

Our rental villa Provence Design ou Tradition is very well located between the Aix-en-Provence countryside, and the Luberon and the Alpilles hills.

Aix-en-Provence

Aix-en-Provence is the historic capital of the region and has a wealth of old buildings and historic sites. It is a vibrant town and there is always something happening, day or night.

A guided tour is a great way to visit the most interesting sites and monuments and find out about the town’s past. Alternatively, enjoy a stroll along the Cours Mirabeau and meander through the local markets where you’ll find fresh produce, flowers or old books. Aix-en-Provence is reputed as an artists’ haven; this is the birthplace of Paul Cézanne. You can visit his art studio and his house, Le Jas de Bouffan, and ten of his artworks are displayed at the Musée Granet.

Just outside the city is the emblematic Sainte-Victoire mountain which offers a wonderful selection of hiking trails. Climb to the summit at an altitude of 1,000 metres to enjoy the panoramic views. You can see out to the Mediterranean Sea on a clear day.
Your holiday home is located just north of the town, with the lavender fields and vineyards of postcard Provence on the doorstep. This is the AOP Côteaux d'Aix-en-Provence wine region, with wine growers just a few kilometres down the road. It’s a short walk to the nearest village, with its narrow streets and old houses, and a market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The Luberon Valley and the Alpilles hills on the doorstep

This little corner of Provence is dotted with quaint villages where the lifestyle is all about living well and taking your time.
Some of the most beautiful villages are within easy reach of the villa. Don’t miss Lourmarin, Bonnieux, Ménerbes, Lacoste, Goult, Roussillon, Gordes, l'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
The region is also known for its abbeys. Sénanque Abbey in Gordes is a working Cistercian monastery, while Silvacane Abbey in La Roque d'Anthéon is less than 10km from your villa and Sainte-Croix Abbey in Salon de Provence is 20km from the house. Another significant religious building in the area is the Popes’ Palace in Avignon – it’s a 60km drive but well worth a visit.

Provence or the Med?

Choosing between the peaceful scenery of Provence or the refreshing sea breeze of the Med will be the most difficult decision you have to make during your holiday! You’re 50 kilometres from the Mediterranean sea and the Calanques de Cassis. It’s an hour’s drive and the perfect opportunity to swim in the sea in a stunning setting!
