Sweet little Dordogne - House with private pool for rent

A modern country house

Sweet little Dordogne is a charming house located in the Dordogne. With its four bedrooms, it is a beautiful villa to rent for ideally six people.

Built of local stone and with exposed beams, the property has been renovated to retain the authenticity and charm of a Dordogne home. You'll enjoy a warm and peaceful atmosphere.

The main living area comprises the kitchen, equipped with a hob and a fireplace, and the dining room, which opens onto the light and airy lounge. Large sliding doors open onto the garden and pool below. This large living area is a blend of old and new, with the metal beams and banister for example.

The four bedrooms are more classic in style. They are very well equipped. They are divided over two levels into two sleeping areas, each with a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and an en suite bathroom.

A villa with swimming pool in south-west France

Holiday homes Dordogne with private pool, things to see and do nearby:

The Dordogne, also known as the Périgord, is a picturesque region of France that offers a bountiful natural environment, numerous historic sites and a cuisine rich in flavour. What's more, you're here in the purple Périgord, in the heart of the Bergerac vineyards. Here are our recommendantions of visits.

Not far from the Sweet Little Dordogne villa, there are many characterful villages to visit: Issigeac, Montpazier, Eymet, Villeréal, Lalinde, Castillonès, Miramont-de-Guyenne...

Among the most popular towns in Périgord is the medieval town of Sarlat-la-Canéda, sixty kilometres from the villa. This historic town is a real architectural gem, attracting some two million visitors every year. Périgueux and Bergerac are also worth a visit, but are much more quiet. Bergerac is only twenty kilometres away.

Beynac and Castelnaud-la-Chapelle are two medieval châteaux  that were ennemy during the 100 Years' War and face each other across the Dordogne. From a different period and in another style: the Château des Milandes is a Renaissance château which was the home of Josephine Baker and now hosts exhibitions devoted to her.

The prehistoric caves of Périgord are also not to be missed. The Lascaux cave, for example, is famous for its cave paintings dating back over 17,000 years. It is located in Montignac and is one of the region's most popular tourist sites. On the way, stop off at Les Eyzies, the world centre of prehistory.

When it comes to gastronomy, Périgord is famous for its foie gras, duck breast and black truffles to be savoured in the region's many starred-restaurants or on the local markets. Markets are held daily in neighbouring villages, particularly on Sunday mornings in Issigeac, the most famous.

Finally, the villa is located in the Bergerac vineyards and not far from the Monbazillac vineyards. The Maison du Tourisme et des Vins in Monbazillac is just twenty kilometres away. Meet the winegrowers and discover their history and know-how. The vineyards can be explored on foot or by bike, and the whole region lends itself to green tourism. The Dordogne and Vézère rivers offer superb scenery and gabarre or kayak trips for the more sporty.

Getting to your holiday house with private pool for 6 persons:

- Bergerac train station: 25 km

- Bergerac-Dordogne-Périgord airport: 20 km

- Bordeaux-Mérignac airport: 150 km
