You’ll never get tired of the typical style of the Cap-Ferret peninsula with this new villa that looks like an oyster hut. Wooden facade, panelled and whitewashed interior walls and high ceilings, natural materials and colours, it’s got everything!
The holidays and the change of scenery begin when you enter through the front door of this Cap-Ferret rental. You enter directly into the large living room which is bathed in sunlight all day thanks to its east/south/west exposure. A single functional and friendly room with including a lounge with a fireplace, a dining room and a fitted open kitchen makes up the ground floor. Wooden and wicker furniture gives great lightness to the ensemble. The décor is also discreet and understated but full of charm with small marine and industrial touches.
The ground floor opens out onto a patio with furniture to match the interior furnishings. So you can move from the inside to the outside seamlessly. The bay windows are also bi-fold and completely disappear to extend the living room outside. There are no more barriers between the two as birdsong enters the villa as much as light does.
Upstairs, harmony is created through the woodwork walls and ceilings, the natural colours and the marine and industrial touches. There are three bedrooms including a suite with an adjoining bathroom and two double bedrooms which share a bathroom.

The Bay’s beaches are perfect for taking it easy. Plage des Américains, Plage du Centre or even the Plage du Phare, these beaches are accessible by foot from the villa and offer different atmospheres. They are perfect for taking a dip at high tide and walks at low tide.
You won't be short on walks to take along the coast. The Abécédaire des Dunes, a marked out walk between the forest and the dunes, all the way to the Pointe de Cap-Ferret where you will benefit from a stunning view over the Dune du Pilat and the Banc d’Arguin. So many other walking paths on foot or by bike are accessible along the entire peninsula, next to the sea or the forest.
You can also engage in meditation in beautiful natural surroundings from the sea, whether its by sailing boat or even better, by traditional pinnace. A change of scenery and letting go of your stress is guaranteed! A boat cruise is an excellent way to discover the history of the Bay while enjoying the benefits of the sea and a stunning view of the entire Arcachon Bay, the guides are passionate and delighted to share their knowledge of the region with you.
Leisure in Cap-Ferret is also about tasting oysters in the 500 oyster huts including the Cabane du Mimbeau. You’ll have to go a little further way for those in Canon or Herbe, two villages that are worth a visit. It’s also about enjoying the ice cream and White Dunes on the beach or even strolling around the streets of Cap-Ferret and in their numerous decorating boutiques in order to bring that holiday feeling home with you. There’s also the market, every morning during peak season stroll through the aisles of fresh regional and handmade products.
For those who don't love the idea of doing nothing, the Cap-Ferret peninsula and the Arcachon Bay offer a multitude of activities. Of course you could start with surfing. The closest spot to the villa is the Petit Train or Horizon which is about three kilometres away. But there is a surfing school 500 metres away. It offers private and group classes for all levels. Ferret’s nautical circle, one kilometre away from the villa, offers other nautical activities in the form of individual or group classes but also the hire of catamarans, kayaks and paddleboards.
The region also has a large number of curiosities for you to discover. Further north of the peninsula, the oyster farming villages including Herbe and Canon are a must-see. There is also Piraillan, Grand Piquey and Petit Piquey which offer magnificent panoramas of the Bay. Even further still is the Prés Salés natural reserve near Ares offering long and short hiking trails.
Venture out, preferably by sea (shuttle from the Bélisaire pier not far from the villa) to Pilat and climb the highest dune in Europe. 106.6 metres high and three kilometres long with an exceptional view over the Banc d’Arguin and... the Pointe du Cap-Ferret, near your villa where you can enjoy a well-deserved break !
Finally, don’t forget the town of Arcachon which is really worth a visit, as well as Bordeaux which is located 70 kilometres away and why not Saint-Emilion and the Bordelais vineyards (120km).

Translated from French / June 2023 / One week stay : "This rental house was perfect, from the decor to the equipments. We just would like to suggest to have a mirror on the ground floor and more towel racks in the bathrooms. But we really enjoy our stay and would recommend it for sure."
