Luxury countryside villa in Provence

Horizon Luberon has everything you want for the ultimate French holiday; space and style with stunning views and all the goodness of Provence, complete with high-end amenities and services.

The décor features noble materials in natural colors, giving this south of France holiday home the hallmark of authenticity.

You will feel yourself unwind as soon as you step through the door. The stylish interior lets the light flood in and a blend of wood and light stone creates a harmonious atmosphere. The ground floor has a living room with a fireplace, a contemporary dining room, and a fully-fitted kitchen.

The four bedrooms and bathrooms upstairs follow the same theme of neutral colors and simple sophistication. The walls, floors and furnishings feature a pleasing combination of textures and materials in mineral tones, merging traditional style with a flourish of modern luxury. Bathrobes and hairdryers are provided, as are lovely locally-made toiletries.

Outside, stone walls and a granite terrace are offset by modern furniture. The swimming pool looks out over the Alpilles foothills and the Luberon countryside. A pleasant garden opens out onto 170 hectares of vines, and further beyond connects to the grounds of the neighbouring property Pearl of Provence, which is also listed on our website.

Guests can enjoy a number of services as they relax at this luxurious haven. A daily cleaning service is included in the rental, and further services can be tailored to your needs. We can arrange a private chef, excursions, massages, or Provençal cooking lessons and are more than happy to cater to any other requirements you may have.

Part of what makes Horizon Luberon so special is its location, with many of the most beautiful villages in the region within easy reach. Provence is brimming with natural beauty and historic sites. With its natural parks, mountain villages, castles, gardens and markets, Provence, like this villa, is authentic and welcoming.
And for the ultimate French experience, Horizon Lubéron is located on a wine estate. What could be better than sharing a glass of wine with friends against a backdrop of vines that stretch out to the foothills of the Lubéron? The climate and soil are what makes the wine here so good; from refreshing, easily-quaffed rosé to more sophisticated reds that are made to last, you’ll enjoy tasting the local offerings! This fabulous estate is the largest in the Coteaux d'Aix-en-Provence appellation, an AOC renowned for the elegance of its wines.
And one of the most prestigious French wines, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, is just down the road. La Provence really does have it all.

Read on for our recommendations on what to do in the Alpilles and Lubéron region.

Luxury rental villa with swimming pool: things to see and do in the Alpilles and Luberon region

- Wine tourism: visit the vineyard and enjoy some wine tasting. Horizon Lubéron is perfectly placed for learning about Provence’s millennium-long wine making expertise. Ideal for enjoying the delightful landscapes... and wines! The region can be explored on foot, by bicycle or on horseback for a unique experience.

- The many picturesque local villages where colours and fragrances abound. They all have a different feel and are packed with personality. Seven of them are classified as the Most Beautiful Villages of France: Gordes, Roussillon, Lourmarin, Ménerbes, Séguret and Venasque, four of which are within 50 kilometres of your luxurious hideaway. Other musts include Bonnieux and Goult, and a little further afield, Saint-Rémy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence and L'Isle-sur-Sorgue. These beautiful spots are reputed the world over, but there are many others to discover while you are here.

- The nearest cities are Aix-en-Provence (15 km), Marseille (50km) and Avignon (75 km), which are packed with history and culture and epitomise the Provencal art de vivre that inspired painters such as Picasso, Cézanne, Van Gogh. There is a Paul Cézanne museum in Aix-en-Provence and the largest ever Picasso museum is set to open in Marseille in 2021.

- A day at the sea. Your vacation rental is about 50 kilometres from the Mediterranean coast. Just after Marseille is the Calanques de Cassis, a picture-perfect landscape of creeks and coves famed for its turquoise-hued cliffs and waters. For the best views, we heartily recommend a private boat cruise, which can be booked at the property.

- Outdoor and sports activities: choose from tennis, golf, horseriding, canoeing, hiking, cycling or climbing in the Alpilles and Lubéron national parks! The Sainte-Victoire mountain is classified as a Grand Site de France and is crossed by approximately 250 km of trails. This was one of Cézanne’s favourite landscapes and appears in 80 of his paintings.

- Markets are an experience in their own right and you’ll find yourself wanting to visit them all! Provencal markets awaken all the senses with their tantalising array of colours, smells and flavours. Provencal cuisine is fragrant and flavoursome with plenty of olive oil, fragrant herbs and garlic. Aix en Provence market is definitely worth a trip, but from villages to cities, markets everywhere propose olives, fruit, garlic, Provencal herbs, thyme, savoury, oregano, rosemary, dried lavender, soaps, oils, wines, dried fruits, tapenades, and anchovies... you’ll need an extra suitcase to fill with savoury delights and souvenirs!
